The automatic link monetisation feature requires the V2 version of our Javascript tracking tag. The V2 script brings several improvements over the original version:
Via our new V2 script and WordPress plugin, you now have the option to activate our monetisation technology. This allows you to automatically monetise unmonetised outgoing links to generate commission through supported networks. This functionality is utilising our Affiliate Link Generator feature, which needs to be set up prior.
Once you have set up our Affiliate Link Generator feature you will also be able to make use of a completely new feature, our Link Monetisation Script. This is a script functionality that will automatically convert URLs that are not monetised yet, based on your affiliate partnerships. The script will identify unmonetised URLs and replace them with redirect URLs, which will lead through your affiliate URLs. This feature is brand new and will soon be going into beta. When the Link Monetiser detects a non affiliate URL on your site that matches one of your connected affiliate programs, it automatically replaces it with a wecantrack redirect URL. In the example below, you can see how a standard Sephora product link has been transformed into a monetised tracking URL, meaning every click now has the potential to earn you a commission, without any manual intervention.
The Link Monetiser works silently in the background, scanning your content for product URLs that aren't yet monetised. When it finds a match with your affiliate partnerships, it automatically converts the link into a wecantrack redirect URL. This means products you've already mentioned on your site can now generate affiliate revenue, no manual link building required.
Want to know which transactions came from automatically monetised links? Look for the WCTX ID in your transaction data. As shown in the redirect path above, monetised URLs use distinctive WCTX identifiers instead of the standard WCT tracking IDs. This makes it easy to segment your performance data and see exactly how much revenue your Link Monetiser is generating versus your manually created affiliate links.
