Cake API Integration

CAKE’s tracked affiliate and lead-distribution conversions flow into Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Claude and Meta Ads with wecantrack, through API and postback connections.

How to integrate Cake affiliate conversions in Google Analytics

In order to integrate Cake conversions in Google Analytics and other marketing tools, it is necessary to attribute the sales data to the traffic data. Our service automatically places SubIDs in your affiliate links, which enables us to automatically match your traffic and affiliate conversion data.

The installation is done in four simple steps:

  1. Create a wecantrack account
  2. Connect your Cake account to our system via API
  3. Connect your website to our system
  4. Activate the integration feature

How to connect your Cake account via API

If you want to connect your Cake account with our system, you need to provide us with an API key for each Cake account and with Affiliate IDs of all your Cake sub-accounts. Additionally, we will need the Domain of the network. Those credentials need to be filled in within our data sources page which you can find by following this link: https://app.wecantrack.com/user/data-source/networks/cake/accounts/create

You can give each of the data connections different names and tags. This enables you to easily filter your data on account or sub account level.

Where can I find the Cake API Key and Affiliate ID?

How to connect your CAKE publisher account via Postback URL

You have the option to decide whether you want to connect your Cake network account to our system via API or Postback URL. Only one integration method is required but we recommend using the API because it delivers richer data.

If you want to use the Postback URL connection, all you need to do is generate a Postback URL on our platform, which you will then place in your Cake affiliate network account. You can generate your Cake Postback URL here: https://app.wecantrack.com/user/data-source/networks/cake/accounts/create

How can I create a CAKE Postback URL?

  • Log into your wecantrack account
  • Go to Data Sources > Affiliate Networks > CAKE or you can follow this link: https://app.wecantrack.com/user/data-source/networks/cake/accounts
Click on + "Add New Account" and Select "Postback"
  • Give the network account a name of your choice (this name will appear in your reports)
  • If possible, please fill in the advertiser name, else our system will use the Campaign ID.
  • Click on Generate Postback URL
  • Copy and Paste the Postback URL in your CAKE publisher account.

Who is the CAKE integration for

Connecting CAKE to wecantrack is worth it if you fall into any of these buckets:

  • Affiliates and media buyers promoting offers that run on a CAKE-tracked program who need clean attribution from CAKE conversion data into their paid acquisition platforms.
  • Affiliates promoting brands whose programs run on CAKE (financial services, ecommerce, travel, lead-gen) who need per-offer commission data back in Google Analytics.
  • Paid media buyers driving traffic to CAKE-tracked offers across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and Meta who need conversion data flowing back for ROAS optimisation.
  • Affiliates and media buyers promoting lead-gen offers that run on CAKE who need each confirmed lead payout matched back to the click and campaign that produced it.
  • Existing wecantrack customers adding CAKE alongside other tracking platforms and networks they already pull data from.

Frequently Asked Questions

We recommend the API integration when the CAKE operator exposes API access. Both methods deliver conversions to wecantrack, but the API pulls richer transaction detail (offer, SubID, payout, status) directly from CAKE, while the Postback URL only fires per-conversion. You only need one method connected.
Whatever the offer is configured to fire on CAKE, a sale, lead, or install, is registered as a transaction. Sale amount, commission, transaction ID, and SubID flow through to wecantrack and on to your analytics and ad platforms.
Yes. wecantrack pushes attributed conversions into Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and Meta as either offline conversions or server-side events, matched to the original click. You optimise paid campaigns on real CAKE revenue instead of front-end form submits.
No. Setup is a few clicks in your CAKE dashboard plus pasting credentials into wecantrack. Most affiliates and media buyers finish the connection within a couple of minutes.
Yes. wecantrack preserves CAKE’s SubID parameters and passes them through to Google Analytics, Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and Meta so you can break down revenue by campaign, ad group, keyword, or any custom SubID convention you already use.
For most affiliates, a couple of minutes end to end: generate API access (or a postback) inside CAKE, paste credentials into wecantrack, and conversions start flowing on the next CAKE event.
